OUR STORY
BLSAM is dedicated to supporting, representing, and advocating for Black law students at McGill’s Faculty of Law while promoting greater access to legal education and the legal profession. Through academic, professional, social, and community-focused initiatives, BLSAM works to foster a strong and supportive community in which Black students can thrive throughout law school and beyond.

Notre Mission
BLSAM seeks to support Black students at every stage of their legal journey, from navigating the admissions process to succeeding at the Faculty and entering the legal profession.
- Peer and alumni mentorship;
- Application and interview support for prospective Black law students;
- Recruitment and career guidance;
- Professional-development workshops and panels with members of the legal profession;
- Networking opportunities with lawyers, firms, organizations, and alumni;
- Participation in the annual BLSA Canada National Conference;
- Social and community-building events for Black law students; and
- Collaborations with organizations serving Black youth and other underrepresented communities.
